TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In using this website and by hiring Christine Gerardi Designs covers you are deemed to have read and agreed to the following terms and conditions. All information provided by the client is a legal binding signature within this agreement this is a enforceable legal contract.
BOOK COVER DESIGN SERVICE:
Christine Gerardi Designs includes the following materials:
A completed design that will be formatted as an E-book cover. A hardcover or paperback book cover design and layout of both the front, back and spine adhering to guidelines provided by the Client. The client is responsible for supplying or instructing the Designer to the printer’s template with specifications which include (page count, type of paper, dimensions of said cover). Also the client can request blank artwork and separate title per request for promotional purchases for additional fees.
MOCK-UPS:
The Designer will provide the Client with mock-ups of the book cover design including Daz characters which I can switch out with real human faces, or human figures. After the Client receives the initial mock-up. The client can either accept the changes of the design, or ask for new mock-ups of characters.
PAYMENT: - EFFECTIVE AUGUST 21ST, 2022
Client agrees to pay 50% of the quoted project before starting work on your book cover. The remaining balance is due upon approval of final book cover design. Christine Gerardi Designs will not release finished files to the client or other parties until final payment has been received. Also the final payment is also final approval of the project from the author, and this project will be considered fulfilled.
ATTRIBUTION:
I do require cover design credit to appear in client's book. Including social media sites. Please credit www.christinegerardidesigns.weebly.com on Amazon, and Goodreads. By working with me you agree to these terms.
Client agrees in credit in the following to formats (ebook, hardcover, print copy, audiobook, and is to acknowledge Christine Gerardi Designs/Monte Cristo Covers Illustrated of their work including hyperlinks therein:

CANCELLATIONS:
The client or designer may cancel the agreement at any time providing it is a written notice. The client does not have rights to any mockups sent to the client and agrees to destroy them.
DESIGN IMAGES:
Christine Gerardi Designs retains the right to use client’s final book cover image design, book title, and name in Christine Gerardi Designs portfolio and promote and market my services. Christine Gerardi Designs retains ownership and copyright over all draft and design materials.
RIGHTS TO THE IMAGES:
The purchaser Christine Gerardi Designs) retains all rights to the royalty free stock photography/graphics. The royalty free stock images that I use have a license for up to 500,000 print copies and unlimited digital copies. If you plan to have print runs of more than 500,000 you will need to purchase the license.
OWNERSHIP RIGHTS:
After final payment, Christine Gerardi Designs grants the client the license to use the final design artwork/book cover PDF/JPEG for their E-book cover.
ALTERATIONS:
Alterations to the final book cover design is prohibited unless stated by Christine Gerardi Designs. We will be more than happy to change colors for series for continuations, etc.
CLIENT RESPONSIBLITIES:
Clients that use Christine Gerardi Designs will be responsible for proofing the E-book design and promotional materials. I suggest that clients receive a proof from the printer before any publishing begins and ordering copies of their book. Christine Gerardi Designs cannot be held financially or legally responsible for any issues, fees, cost or expenses that are incurred by purchasing a cover and using the book cover design.
No alterations or edits may be done to a purchased book cover. For instance, if a author purchases a cover and plans to use that same exact cover in a series of two other books and just change the color that is not permitted. The author will need to contact me to change and alter the cover for the series.
